Join art educator, Katey Rissi, for a special ECO art afternoon for preschoolers and their families. Co-sponsored by the Library and Alchemy Art Center. Offered at no cost to participants. Drop ins welcome between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. 

Learn the basic anatomy of a human hand that can be used as a ring or special object holder! Taught by master figurative sculptor Maria Michaelson. Clay creations will be fired at Alchemy, glazed, and returned to the library for pickup.

Learn how to make simple linocut stamps that can be applied to canvas or other thick fabric. Patches can then be used for jeans or mending on heavy-duty

Learn basic handbuilding techniques and create a set of ceramic goblets to drink fancy beverages.

Learn how to collage on a 3d form and create one (or multiple) special jars to hold candles. Play with light and opacity using tissue paper and other craft supplies!

Learn the basics of felting and apply beautiful felted letters to your favorite wool sweater or clothing item! Please bring your own wool sweaters/clothing if you have them.

Decorate one (or multiple) square white tiles using super colorful low-fire glaze. Decide as a group whether you’d like the tiles to go towards a future small tile mural project, or take home for yourself.

Weave a small tapestry using all types of colored yarn and a cardboard mini-loom. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring your own yarn if you so desire. Take home your small tapestry or cardboard loom at the end of the class!
